Are You a Candidate for LASIK?
Candidates for LASIK must be 21 years or older. In addition to having a healthy cornea, patients must not have had a significant change in their prescription in the last 12 months. Previous eye diseases such as herpes simplex, or on-going systemic auto-immune diseases, do not make an ideal candidate. Pregnant women are not candidates for the procedure during their pregnancy. A complete cycloplegic eye examination by Dr. Wood will allow him to advise you.
LASIK treats the following conditions:
- Myopia, or nearsightedness with or without astigmatism
- Hyperopia, or farsightedness with or without astigmatism
- Over or undercorrection after other refractive surgery or cataract surgery
